These terms and conditions apply to the BuzzKey app for mobile devices, together with the BuzzKey buzzer phone number service and any related services operated by ANSU Technologies Inc. (collectively, the "Application"). ANSU Technologies Inc. is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
These Terms and Conditions govern your BuzzKey account, household, buzzer phone number service and subscriptions. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. You should read both before using the Application. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service. For software downloaded from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard EULA governs the app licence as explained below; these service terms do not replace that licence.
BuzzKey gives your household a phone number for your building's intercom to call. When a visitor calls that number, the Application rings the phones of your household's members. A member can talk to the visitor and open the door by having the Application send the door-release tone to the intercom. The Application also offers features that can open your door without anyone answering, including auto-unlock timers, access schedules and access codes.
The in-app demo lets you try BuzzKey without an account or a subscription. It uses simulated calls and doors only; it does not connect to any intercom and does not open any real door.
The Application is currently offered in Canada and the United States.
For software downloaded from the Apple App Store, the app licence is governed by Apple's Standard EULA linked below. For software obtained through other stores, subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application on a mobile device for personal or internal business purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble that software, except where applicable law permits it despite this restriction.
The Service Provider retains all intellectual property rights in the Application, including its code, design, trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and branding (the "IP"). Nothing in these Terms grants you any license or right to use the Service Provider's trademarks, logos, or branding for any purpose. You agree not to remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices displayed in or on the Application.
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of the Application, or the Service Provider's trademarks is prohibited, subject to the applicable software licence and any rights that cannot be restricted by law. All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider or their respective owners.
You must be at least 13 years old to create a BuzzKey account and legally permitted to use the Application where you live. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf and approve your use of the Application. Required parental or guardian consent must be obtained before personal information is collected. A subscription must be purchased by an adult with legal capacity to enter the purchase, or with the authorization required by applicable law and the store's rules.
You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
The Application only works with your building's intercom if the intercom is set up to call your BuzzKey number. Before you do that, you are responsible for:
When you add guests, invite members, or create access codes, you may provide other people's names, phone numbers or email addresses. You confirm that you have their permission, or another lawful basis, to share this information for the purpose of using the Application. The Privacy Policy explains how this information is handled. Do not provide personal data of others without their consent.
You agree not to:
The Service Provider may suspend or limit features, including your phone number, if it reasonably believes they are being misused, and may cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires.
You can stop using the Application and delete your account at any time.
The Service Provider may suspend your access to the Application if you materially breach these Terms. The Service Provider will provide you with written notice of the breach and, where the breach is capable of cure, you will have 14 days from receipt of notice to remedy the breach. If you fail to cure the breach within that period, the Service Provider may terminate your access.
The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access immediately without notice if you violate applicable law, infringe intellectual property rights, or engage in activity that could cause harm to other users, other people's safety, or the Service Provider.
Upon termination, your right to use the BuzzKey service will end. If your household's service is terminated, its BuzzKey phone number will be released; ending an individual member's access does not by itself release a continuing household's number. Your information will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Termination of the software licence for an App Store copy remains governed by Apple's Standard EULA.
The Service Provider is dedicated to ensuring that the Application is as beneficial and efficient as possible. As such, it reserves the right to modify the Application or its features. Any change to the price of a subscription will be communicated to you in advance, as described under Subscriptions and Payments.
The Application stores and processes personal data that you have provided to the Service Provider in order to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your mobile device and access to the Application.
The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your mobile device, which involves removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your mobile device. Such actions could expose your mobile device to malware, viruses, malicious programs, compromise your mobile device's security features, and may result in the Application not functioning correctly or at all.
The Application relies on third-party services, whose own terms may also apply to you:
Please be aware that the Service Provider does not assume responsibility for certain aspects. Functions of the Application require an active internet connection, which can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to lack of access to Wi-Fi or if you have exhausted your data allowance.
If you are using the Application outside of a Wi-Fi area, please be aware that your mobile network provider's agreement terms still apply. Consequently, you may incur charges from your mobile provider for data usage during the connection to the Application, or other third-party charges. By using the Application, you accept responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the Application outside of your home territory (i.e., region or country) without disabling data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you are using the Application, it is assumed that you have obtained permission from the bill payer.
Similarly, the Service Provider cannot always assume responsibility for your usage of the Application. For instance, it is your responsibility to ensure that your device remains charged. If your device runs out of battery and you are unable to access the service, the Service Provider cannot be held responsible.
To the extent the law allows, the Application is provided "as is" and "as available". The Service Provider does not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every intercom, phone or network, or that every call will reach you or every door-open command will work.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be lawfully excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or losses resulting from someone entering or failing to enter your building, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
However, the Service Provider retains full liability for:
Subject to the exceptions above and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of the Service Provider for any other claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you to the Service Provider for the Application in the 12 months preceding the claim, or the minimum amount that must be paid under applicable law, whichever is greater. The exclusions and cap in this section do not apply to the liabilities listed above.
The Service Provider accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying entirely on third-party information provided through this Application, or for inaccuracies in content provided by third parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or directly related to your breach of these Terms, your intentional misuse of the Application, or your setup of your building's intercom without the permission described above.
This indemnification does not apply to claims arising from the Service Provider's own negligence, breach of these Terms, or violation of applicable law. In jurisdictions where consumer indemnification is restricted by law, this clause shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted.
Device and operating-system requirements may change, and you may need to install updates to continue using the service. The Service Provider may stop supporting older versions. If it discontinues the BuzzKey service, it will give notice as required by applicable law. Affected subscriptions remain subject to the applicable store purchase terms and any cancellation or refund rights that cannot be excluded by law. Ending the service does not replace the software-licence provisions of Apple's Standard EULA for App Store copies.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, excluding conflict of law rules. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms.
If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the mandatory consumer protection laws of your province, state or country continue to apply. Before starting a formal claim, please contact the Service Provider at support@buzzkey.co so it can try to resolve the issue informally.
If you download BuzzKey from the Apple App Store, your licence to the app software is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). The Standard EULA governs software-licence matters, including its applicable usage, warranty and liability provisions. These Terms govern the separate BuzzKey account, household, telephony and subscription services and do not replace or restrict rights under the Standard EULA.
ANSU Technologies Inc. operates the BuzzKey service and handles support enquiries at support@buzzkey.co. Apple does not operate the BuzzKey buzzer service. Your App Store purchases also remain subject to Apple's applicable purchase and subscription terms.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms and Conditions constitute the agreement between you and the Service Provider concerning the BuzzKey services described here, superseding prior agreements or understandings about those services. The Privacy Policy explains the handling of personal information. Apple's Standard EULA and applicable store purchase terms continue to govern the matters described above.
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms and Conditions. It will notify you of significant changes in the Application or by email before they take effect, and by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page.
Previous versions of these Terms and Conditions will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting the Service Provider at support@buzzkey.co.
These terms and conditions are effective as of 2026-10-25.
